BALAYAGE + LIVED-IN COLOR IN CHARLESTON, SC
SALT + SLATE HAIR CO.

Balayage and lived-in color are both ways to create depth, brightness, and a beautiful blend that grows out naturally.  Depending on your hair, your starting point, and how much brightness or dimension you are looking for, we may use foils or hand-painted balayage to create your result.

Both are customized to you, the biggest difference is how we create the color.

LIVED-IN COLOR

Lived-in color used foils to create brightness and dimension throughout the hair while keeping the color rooted at the top.  A root tap and gloss are used to blend everything together for a soft, dimensional finish.  Because foils allow for maximum lightening, the service is a great option when you are looking for more brightness while still maintaining depth at the root.

BALAYAGE

Hand-Painted Balayage uses an open-air painting technique to place a lightener directly onto the hair, creating soft, diffused dimension.  Because the hair is painted rather than foiled, the result is typically softer and more subtle, with brightness placed exactly where it compliments your haircut and natural color.  This is a beautiful option for guests who want natural-looking dimension and a soft grow-out rather than maximum brightness.
